About the SLS
The SLS is USHLI's flagship youth program. Approximately 228 schools and organizations participated in 17 states, both new records for the spring cycle. The most important record was that 53,977 students, parents and educators heard some of the top speakers in the nation deliver USHLI's core message of staying in school, improving their academic performance, graduating, and pursuing some level of post-secondary education, training, or meaningful employment.
SLS participants enjoyed the programs that included STEM-focused engineers and a scientist, a college fair, scholarships, essay writing contests, and presentations on life and leadership skills and how to finance a post-secondary education.
Our goal for 2015 is to reach a total of 150,000 students, parents and educators in 30 states. The fall cycle of the series begins this month and will continue through mid-December. To host the SLS program at your school, please review the SLS Partner Packet.
Persons interested in hosting SLS events in 2015 should contact Alfred Ramirez, Director of Operations, at email@example.com.
